God's mirror

It is 12:16 am and I am up. There was a lot of rain. I feel like writing and I started with the title of "God of miracle". Today I learnt that the Earth is tilted at 23.5 degrees and that is why we have seasons and it may be that the moon collided with earth a long time ago and gave it this tilt. I like this fact because it just happens to resemble my birth date 23-5 and 11235 is at the beginning of the fibonacci sequence. The moon is a mirror of the sun in a very real and poetic sense. Life on earth is full of miracles. Everything flows and aligns with a higher power. There is so much balance and symmetry. The word miracle reminds me of the word mirror. It begs the questions, I wonder if God has a mirror? What would be God's mirror? We use mirrors to see ourselves. Does God see himself in his creation? Is creation God's mirror? I noticed that if I take the end of mirr-or and combine it with the end of mir-acle, I get oracle. An oracle is defined as a source that prov...

God's race

It is 12:25 am, and I woke up with the desire to write. I began with the title: God is beautiful, and then let the words flow—like a flower drifting gently along a river. I had the help of my friend Chatty to row the boat through formatting and editing. All I can think about is how beautiful God is. There is beauty all around us. It is up to us to recognize it—to see it, feel it, and benefit from this sacred appreciation. God has a plan for each one of us. He is the best of planners. The struggles do not matter. The triumphs do not matter. What matters is the purpose—the goodness that grows from our journey. Goodness is what matters. Beauty comes from goodness. And God is the source of all goodness. He desires goodness for us. The only race worth running is the race for the grace of God. Grace—God’s Race—the race to heaven, the race to eternal beauty. The other day, I wrote: “My belly is full.” It is full of beauty. And so, belly full becomes beauty full. Is that not beautiful? They sa...

Reality

I came across this question today and I find it interesting -- If the past is gone and the future has not happened, does the present really exist? I feel this is similar to asking if time is an illusion? I think memory makes the present real. Without our mind or the ability to perceive and remember things there would be no reality. There would be no present to talk about. It is like asking if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? Time persists in our mind. Before that question I was thinking about infinity and the conclusion I came to was that infinity does not exist in what I know as reality. Infinity is not real for me. For something to be real it must have an edge. Beyond the real is the unreal. Beyond the known is the unknown. Infinity is not a state. Infinity means something is forever growing. Infinity is an action. Similarly, time is an action. Life is happening. What has happened becomes memories and what is to come is imagination. In...

Life is a journey and a gift

It is 1219am. I just woke up and there is no current (electricity). I only have 27% battery left on my mobile and I do no not have mobile internet. I do not want to spend $30 dollars for a day pass of mobile internet. The place is silent except for the odd car that passes by or the barking dogs in the distance. I need to conserve the battery on my mobile because it is the only source of light for me but I also want to write. It is Sunday the 8th of June. It is so quiet that I can hear myself think. It is so dark that it is cold. I am thinking about the Hajj pilgrims. What it must feel like. A once in a lifetime experience. A dream come true. A pillar of faith completed. A prayer answered. A challenge conquered. A journey of a lifetime. A calling of God. I do not think I have the health or braveness or means to undertake such a journey. I do not see myself as being that religious. I would rather spend the money differently if I had that amount of money to begin with. I am willing under ...
