It is 303pm. This is my second attempt at writing. I deleted the first blog post. I do not have a topic and my flow is not leading me to a topic. As yet. God is on my mind. The Quran is on my mind. Life. Hope. Peace. Future. All on my mind. Ramadan too. God help me make something from this blog post. I will wait for the next notification that comes my way. Maybe there is a topic in that. Today is Sunday. It is quiet. 311pm. A reminder about the upcoming asr prayer from the nusuk app. What does asr mean? What does nusuk mean? My friend says that nusuk is an arabic word associated with worship, devotion, and religious rites. Asr is associated with the afternoon or late afternoon. There is a chapter in the Quran called Asr. I still cannot think of what to write. Should I just delete this blog post. 319pm.
I just noticed something in the times listed in this blog post. 3, 11 and 19 are prime numbers. The next prime number is 23. All prime numbers are odd except for 2. This reminds me of a rhyme that came to my head the other day. Be odd for God. What does it mean to be odd for God? Does God like odd numbers? My friend tells me of a hadith. "Allah is Witr (One) and loves what is Witr (odd)." My friend then goes on to give me some food for thought. What if being odd for God is not about maths at all, but about being willing to live differently because of your faith?
Perhaps being odd for God means choosing kindness when the world encourages otherwise. Perhaps it means speaking the truth when a lie would be easier. Perhaps it means praying when I am distracted, having hope when the future is uncertain, and choosing peace when anger seems justified. This life is a test. Do we fit in or do we stand out? God made each one of us unique. No two humans are the same. No two life stories are the same. We are one and yet we are one. One human among many but one humanity. Two odds make an even. Perhaps when our odd meets God's odd we become even as in heaven. This has me asking the question. What are the odds of getting into heaven? No one could possibly know. But through faith, good deeds and the mercy of God we make the odds in our favour.
