I am voting for God

Dear God,

My country needs You. The people need You. The most vulnerable, our most valuable, need You.

Heal our sick. Take care of the poor. Help the disabled. Cherish the elderly. Comfort the hurting.

Guide whomever has a job to do. Guide whomever is put in power. Guide the decision-makers.

Educate our minds. Make us good citizens. Make us care for each other. Make us love each other.

Guide us to do the right things. Guide us to say the right things. Guide us to think the right things.

I have read Your manifesto. I have heard Your promise. I have seen You answer prayers. I have seen Your work. I have faith in You. I believe in You, God.

This election, I am voting for You. I am putting my X next to the praying hands.

I drank a cup of water and I sit in the quiet of the night writing to You. I had a dream and part of that dream was me telling how I had found God and how that helped me. What does it mean to find You? I think it means You were missing, You were missing from my life even though You were always there all the steps of the way. A mosquito just flew past and between my face and the mobile phone. I have no idea what I want to write. I looked at the word mosquito and I found that it resembles the word mosque. The mosque is considered a house of God. The mosquito is mentioned in a parable in the Quran. There is also a hadith that tells us that this world is not worth as much as the wing of a mosquito in the sight of God. This is a reminder for me.
