Peace of the pie

This is another page from my ninth book called "Dear God". I was inspired to write this book after writing "I am voting for God" on my blog. It continues in that format. Short letters (or prayers) to God. It gives me an opportunity to write more and write to God at different moments in my life.

Dear God,

It seems like greed is at the heart of many of the wrongs of this world today. We want more and more and we are never satisfied. We want the biggest piece of the pie we can get. Help us to understand that there is peace in contentment. That there is peace in sharing with each other. That there is peace in helping each other. There is enough for everyone to live comfortably. Help us to see this.

Empty our hearts of wants and fill it with Your love. Let us love for others what we love for ourselves. We can put a price on a piece of the pie but peace is priceless. Let us not trade our peace for pieces of the pie. Peace in this world leads to peace in the hereafter. This world is fleeting but Your promise of peace in heaven for good doers is lasting. Let us not trade peace in heaven for a piece of this world.

Seeking the light

It is so easy when I write to You. So easy when I write from the heart. I notice that the word our is in the word journey. This is our journey. We are never alone on our journey. I keep calling on You to guide me, protect me and have mercy on me. It is an interesting concept. It all started today when I watched a math video involving the axiom of choice. We say that You are infinitely powerful. But what does this mean? Infinity means that there is no end. Infinity is not a state. Infinity is not a noun. Infinity does not exist for us. If something is growing or moving without ever ending (perpetual) then it has the quality of being infinite. When discussing infinity we can use precision and limits to wrap our minds around the concept. Mosquitos in heaven

A mosquito just flew past and between my face and the mobile phone. I have no idea what I want to write. I looked at the word mosquito and I found that it resembles the word mosque. The mosque is considered a house of God. The mosquito is mentioned in a parable in the Quran. There is also a hadith that tells us that this world is not worth as much as the wing of a mosquito in the sight of God. This is a reminder for me. I wonder if there is any chance of the rain falling tonight? I have not read the forecast. Everything comes and goes in waves. God saves. Today is already the 13th of the 4th month. They say time waits on no one. Just the other day we were celebrating the new year. Time waits on no one except God I suppose. We often speak of God's timing. I just read that God waits for all.
